ROUND AND ROUND

For the last 72 hours I've been laid up with what I've been told is a nasty viral bug. I don't know what I ever did to it, but I sure as hell know what it did to me, and now, M. Today is the first day I've felt remotely close to human since Tuesday, as well as the first time in aforementioned period that I've been hungry. Or thirsty. Or interested in anything other than sleep.

But, as it goes, M came down with the same bug just as I became functional. Which, is probably for the best because I'm a pretty crappy nurse when I'm feeling healthy so I know I would be an even crappier nurse when I'm feeling sick myself.

The upside of the recent illness is that while the temperature outside hovered around 90F with 90% humidity, my body was convinced I was back in Maine, in January, in shorts. I was FREEZING - two quilts, sweat pants, socks and a long sleeved shirt, while M was drenched in sweat, and bemoaning the ridiculous heat. A fever has never been so useful!

Now, while M sleeps his version of sick off in bed, it's my turn to offer ice chips, gatorade, water, fans on? fans off? more quilts? less quilts? and do all the housekeeping he did for me while I was incoherent on the couch dreaming of golf.

I even brought in BOTH the recycling AND garbage cans. And I don't touch the recycling can -- there used to be old old spider nests on it. I don't care that they're gone, they were there, and could always return. Shudder.
